RULES OF STORING RICE IN A WAREHOUSE

Regardless of type and country of origin, rice should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse at a temperature not more than 20°C. Duration of fumigation treatment of rice is 2 months from date of shipment from mill. Therefore, importers of rice must carry out fumigation treatment of their warehouses at least once in a month, so that the bugs do not appear in rice during storage periode. Kindly note our information regarding fumigation of containerized rice and rice in Go down. Sir if transit time for any port is more than 25 days then in this case we prefer to do fumigation with MBR (methyl bromide)(little bit costly) But if transit time is less than 25 days then we use ALP fumigant. In case of Go down fumigation, if the storage condition is good then in this case we can fumigate rice after 40 days and if storage condition is not good then in this case sometime it become necessary to do fumigation after 15 to 20 days. Everything depend on storage condition.

Now again if any bug showing in rice and u are in hurry to sale rice within 3 to 4 days then in this case u use MBR fumigant with a quantity of 48 gm per mt. So in this case u can use rice immediately 2 to 3 days after fumigation. But if u r not in hurry and want to save ur money then u can use ALP fumigation with a quantity of 9 to 12 gm per mt but in this case u can't use that rice before 7 to 8 days
